For many people in Linden Woods, the drive down Lindenwood Drive by our clubhouse offers the opportunity to catch news on upcoming events by reading our large, multi-message sign. We've now added a new feature to our website that lets you see the sign's messages online without having to drive past the clubhouse. Just click on the "What's on the Sign?" link under our Information section, or just click here. We'll make sure this information is always synchronized with the actual sign.

President's Comments on Navy League Cadets Program

Recently a representative from the Navy League of Canada made a presentation to the Board of Directors of the Linden Woods Community Centre Inc. and asked the board to sponsor a Navy League Cadet Program either alone or in cooperation with other community centers in North Fort Garry Area. The presentation outlined various aspects of Navy League Cadet Programe and explained the important role the program can play in the development of the young people of the community.

Linden Woods Winter Carnival

Linden Woods Winter Carnival will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Linden Woods Community Centre. The winter carnival will be a day full of fun family activities including exhibition hockey games, family skating, a silent auction, and winter games of skill and chance for all ages. Food and beverages will be available. Bring the family and come join us for a fun day!

If You Build It, They Will Come: Volunteers Needed!

They will come in groups, in pairs, alone – people of all ages - to play basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, Bridge, karate, yoga, music programs….. They will come toting basketballs, sticks, running shoes, water bottles….they will come. But only if there is somewhere to go…..

Soccer Registrations

Spring soccer registrations for children ages 9 and up will take place at the Community Centre building, 414 Lindenwood Dr W on Thursday March 4, 7:00-8:30PM and Sunday March 7, 2-4PM.

Volunteers Needed

Linden Woods Community Centre is looking for a volunteer or volunteers to take over as the new soccer convener for our area. Position entails taking registrations, working with other District conveners to form teams, organizing and liaising with coaches and other administrative functions.
 
Without a convener we do not have a recreational soccer program and we are hoping that someone out there will please volunteer.

President's Comments: Community Centre Expansion

Recently the Linden Woods Community Centre Board applied for funding for expansion of Linden Woods Community Centre. The need for expansion has been felt for some time. The existing facility was built in the early 90’s. The community has experienced significant growth over the years and the amount of recreation space has not kept pace.
