The Linden Woods Community Centre has been actively pursuing the development of a full sized gymnasium connected to your current community centre for many years, and now it's becoming a reality.

 

Your community centre was built with the vision of being a central meeting place for our community as well as the location of many community based activities including sports, crafts, arts and social events. With the addition of a full-sized gymnasium, this facility will further reach this vision, becoming a venue for residents ranging from infants to seniors.

 

 

The new gymnasium will be a top-class facility, including a full court floor, changing rooms, offices and even a stage for events not previously possible in our neighbourhood. A preliminary floor plan (above) has been devised.

 

Your sponsorship dollars are required to complete this worthwhile community project and we are asking for your help.

 

The cost of this project is $3 million. Your Community Centre Board has succeeded in securing government funding in the amount of just over $2.5 million. To date, we have raised sufficient additional funds to bring this amount up to a total of $2.75 million in secured funding. A breakdown of the funding follows below:

 

• Recreation Infrastructure Canada - $961,011
• Community Centre Investment Fund (60% city, 40% province) - $1,000,000
• City Land Dedication Reserve Fund - $100,000
• City Community Incentives Grant - $50,000
• City of Winnipeg - $410,000
• LWCC/LWCA/LWCF - $228,989
• TOTAL - $2,750,000

 

As you can see, an additional $250,000 is required to complete this worthwhile community project and we are asking for your help.

 

There are approximately 3700 households in Linden Woods. This means that a $100 donation from every household would make a world of difference to the community. Of course, we would appreciate any contribution you can make to build this valuable community facility, right in our backyard.

 

In the near future, a member of our community will come to your door with a reminder of this important opportunity. In the meantime, there are a number of ways to make a donation to the Linden Woods Community Foundation:

 

• Make a donation at the Steinbach Credit Union or most other credit unions, or the CIBC
• Fill out a donation form and mail a cheque
• Donations can also be made online at CanadaHelps.org.

You will be given an official tax receipt for the full amount of your donation. To permanently recognize your role in this endeavour, a Builder’s Wall be constructed in the Linden Woods Community Centre to recognize individual and corporate sponsorships of the gymnasium as follows:

• $200 to $500 - Donor
• $500 +  - Builder

  

Business/Corporate

• $500 – $1000 - Supporter
• $1000 – $2000 - Donor (includes logo)
• $2500+ - Builder (includes logo, phone number, email)
