LWCC Expansion Concepts
At our recent and very successful open house the idea of a gymnasium addition to our club was discussed in detail with visitors. Appearing at the open house were several new and dramatic concept views of the proposed facility. These all appear courtesy of Dean Syverson of Syverson Monteyne Architecture, who produced them for our club.
The diagrams include a site plan, showing where the proposed facility would be located on our property:

Here is an internal view of the building, showing the various rooms and hallways. There are several items of interest in the plan:
- A gym entrance that hooks up with the existing entrance by adding a hallway along the front of our building
- An exterior patio
- A meeting room and office
- A hall of fame to hold our ever-increasing inventory of trophies and banners
- Additional washrooms
- Two more change rooms, raising the complex's total to four
- Storage room for sports and other equipment
- A full stage and storage area for associated equipment
- Kitchen
- Two sets of retractable bleachers
- NCAA-sized basketball court

The two most notable proposed features are the stage and the court. The stage will allow our residents to produce events not possible in anyother public facility in our neighborhood - it will be the only public stage in the area. Combined with the new kitchen, we will even be able to host a folklorama pavilion. The other notable feature is the NCAA-sized basketball court, which would be only the third court of that size in the city; the others being at the University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg.
Externally the complex will take on a very dramatic appearance, as shown in this rendering by Syverson Monteyne Architecture
